Today I signed up for Location Rebel Academy, a freelance writing program, designed by Sean Ogle. I knew it was the program for me as these words speak to the values which feed my soul. So excited to be moving forward in the manifestation of my life’s vision. Uruguay here we come!
I have always been fascinated by people who make money just being themselves. From Kim Kardashian to travel vloggers. I am also fascinated by human nature and our desire to go on journeys with others and witness their stories. As you might know from this blog, I am done with trying to work a traditional 9-5, and set out making money on my own. I have had to deprogram my brain. I mean, I went to college like every good American and got a useful degree. Even though I am shunning my former life, I will say, my chemistry degree is useful and I am glad I got one. But I am ready to embark on this journey of being a self-employed Xennial.

So far I have used my skills to write resumes for people. I do find it rewarding as I feel like I am helping people better themselves. A nice little taste of success using my skills making the world a better place. I am off to go do more housekeeping chores. Until next time. BYE!
Are you not reaching your goals despite having read several self-help books? I have listened to hundreds of podcasts, read tons of self-help books, and I still was not reaching my goals! What was wrong with me? I seriously was starting to believe I was missing the “productivity” gene. My brain would not allow me to stop procrastinating. I was consistently inconsistent. Instead of ending my day how I envisioned it, feeling proud, productive and moving forward in life; I ended the day feeling sad, guilty and ashamed. Why could I just not get my life together? I made vision boards, meditated, wrote my schedule at night, journaled, set intentions, and I even wrote and signed those self contracts. I had accountability partners, who in the end, I just avoided and ghosted. Nothing was getting done! What a loser!
Consciously, I have big dreams. To semi-retire by the age of 55, to make six-figure in passive income, to be a six-figure copy and content writer, to weigh a svelte 136 pounds, to live in my dream house, to eat intuitively, to have close friends in my city. And even though I had been working on myself and developing myself for the past 5 years it was still not happening! Recently, I discovered my subconscious brain was holding me back!
While listening to another podcast, hoping I would be inspired, I clicked on an interview with Dr. Bruce Lipton. He said, and I am paraphrasing here, 95% of your day is run by your subconscious brain. And if you are not meeting your conscious goals, it is that your subconscious brain is holding you back. What does this mean? You are running on a program that was instilled in you as a child. The important messages we learn that show us how to navigate society, our little community, our family and ourselves, are messages from our parents, media, school, peers and other caregivers. It is what shapes and molds our views. This is why most poor people stay poor and why rich people tend to stay rich, despite how hard they work, how nice they are, and what goals they are setting. We are filled to the brim with this is subconscious programming.
So what are we to do? How do we break the cycle of being held hostage to our subconscious brain? How do we go about and reprogram ourselves? According to Lipton, there are 3 ways – hypnosis and subliminal messaging, repetition, and energy psychology.
Taking his advice, I downloaded a bunch of affirmations ranging in topics from health, wealth, productivity and motivation so that I could play them while I slept and would wake up to them in the morning (Yay for YouTube premium). And it works! I am writing this blog aren’t I? I have been wanting to get back into writing for the last couple of months and would just keep putting it off. What are some other changes I’ve noticed? My to-do list doesn’t seem so hard. Instead of lots of internal resistance, I now flow with it. I actually danced in my kitchen by myself! WTF! My brain is changing. And this was after 3-4 days of listening to my affirmations. It may sound silly and like it doesn’t work, and maybe this is my one productive day for the month, but overall, I feel happier, inspired and ready to tackle my dreams. Resistance is still there, but it is more of a whisper vs shouting from a megaphone.
I will update this new found trick and let you know how my consistency and habitation is coming along.
Section 1: Personal Information
Here you will find your names and aliases, addresses – both current and previous, and employers.
Section 2: Credit Scores
This is where you will find your credit scores from the 3 bureaus. If there is no score for a certain bureau, that means you do not have enough credit to establish a history.
Section 3: Risk Factors
These are comments made by the 3 bureaus about your credit history. It may contain statements like, “Too many collections agency accounts that are unpaid.” or “The date that you opened your oldest account is too recent.” This is important as it is how the bureaus see you and what lenders will look at. The risks codes will be in order of importance. Whatever is at the top is the most significant. This will tell you why you are not being approved for a loan.
Section 4: Summary
This is where you will find how many accounts you have open, closed, delinquent, balances for all the amount of credit you have out, and payments, if you have anything in your public records, and how many inquires that have been made in the last 2 years.
Section 5: Account History
This section will show you the account type and whether or not it is revolving, installment or open. It will also give detail as to what kind of account it it – a credit card, mortgage, student loan, etc. It will also tell you the bureau code, and this is important to look at and make sure it is right. This will tell you if the account is individual, joint or authorized user. It will divulge the details of monthly minimum payment, date opened, credit limit, what is past due, payment status, and when the bureaus or furnisher last reported this information. High credit is the highest balance that it has been. If it is higher than the credit limit, then that means you went over your credit limit. The comment section is a valuable piece of information as it will give clues about your account. Date of last active is the date of last activity on the account. It also sets the date for the timeframe for debt collection that is legally enforceable. There is a statute of limitations on how long debt can be collected. Another important piece of information is the date of last payment, because this will tell you the date of first delinquency. This has to do with the 7 year limitation that credit bureaus and furnishers can keep it on your credit report.
Section 6: Public Records
This section will state any thing that is public records. This includes judgements, child support, liens, bankruptcy, and sometimes criminal history. Liens are technically not supposed to appear on a credit report, but sometimes they do. You might be able to dispute a lien as an inaccuracy and get it taken off your credit report.
Section 7: Inquires
This section shows when your credit history was requested. It can be a hard or a soft request. It should only appear once, not in duplicate or triplicate, and should not be on there for more of its statute of limitations. For example, most inquiries are only allowed to be on there for 2 years.
Section 8: Consumer Statement
I would leave this section blank, as you might unintentionally incriminate yourself. But if desired, you can write a blurb and have an explanation about your credit.
Section 9: Furnisher Contact Information
This section gives you the contact information for each furnisher. This is who reported information to the bureaus. This information is provided so you can contact anyone who provided information about you.
What are you supposed to do with this information?
You can use it to stop and fix any inaccuracies in your report. Inaccuracies could include not having correct addresses, having wrong descriptions for accounts, having a spouse on your report, and the most annoying, being listed as deceased! You can dispute dates, comments and verifications. It is important to be specific about inaccuracies and corrections.
Hello! One of my goals in life is to become a top notch financial coach, helping thousands of people gain financial independence. I want to help people quit their jobs, have financial security, reach their financial goals, and just becoming more financially literate. I believe one of the first steps to financial independence is to make sure you have great credit. I know Dave Ramsey says that credit is stupid and that you don’t actually need it, but I disagree. You need credit to rent an apt, get a cell phone, apply for certain jobs, etc. So one of the first ways I am going to help my clients is by starting with their credit and making sure that their credit report accurately reflects the truth. So how do you go about disputing your credit report? In my training, I am learning several ways to do this.
First, you ask the credit bureaus for a verification. According to the law, they have 30 days to dispute a verification and if they can’t come up with the evidence, then it gets erased from your report. I like the fact that the burden of proof falls on them. This is used as the first sweep and the disputes are more broad and all encompassing.
Second, you can formally dispute items on the report. This targets specific disputes. There is something specific that is inaccurate about the data. It also encompasses outdated and incomplete information. It can be something and simple as a name misspelling. This is a great way to remove negative items that are affecting your credit.
The third step is to send the credit bureaus a warning and asking for a reinvestigation. I believe this step is one of the strongest. This is where a lot of people give up when they hear no. But persistence can pay off. This step lets people know you are serious and won’t just go away.
Fourth step is intervention. This step is for open accounts and late payments. By sending a friendly letter showing that you have had a good history of payment, then you can usually get the one to two late payments off your account.
If you are starting to feel ignored report them to an agency. No one wants to deal with that. If you feel the need to leave a bad review or to tell your friends about it, then most companies don’t want to deal with negative press and they might be more likely to remedy a mistake and to fix the problem.
The next process to help with stubborn debt, is to ask for a written verification. This forces creditors to verify that the debt is valid.
The final strategy is to take legal action. If you are being ignored, they won’t correct something, or investigate you can file a lawsuit against them. You will need to hire a lawyer for this step.
After I go through these steps for my clients, the next step I would do is to educate them how to live a debt free lifestyle, how to prepare for the future, and how to make investments, and how to set themselves up to create passive income.
